Will 6-foot-3 guard Robert Johnson be the latest recruiting score for Virginia coach Tony Bennett?

The Richmond native is currently weighing offers from UVa, UNC, Indiana and Florida State and is expected to announce his decision on Friday.

Here's what Benedictine coach Ryan Marable told me, verbatim, a few minutes ago.

“He’s done with all of his visits unless something crazy happens. I think he’s content with those four [schools] and just going from there.

“I have absolutely no clue to be honest with you. I think it changes by the minute with him, in a good way.

"I think he analyzes all the schools and the pros and the cons. I don’t think there’s a favorite by any means, to be honest with you.

“Before the FSU visit, I thought it was about 33, 33, 33 percentage-wise. I didn’t think FSU was going to be able to get in the mix because it’s so far away and he had two other ACC offers that were closer...

“But they blew him away down there. With the players that they have coming in and the workouts that he saw, they put themselves on equal playing field with the other guys. I think it’s going to be a difficult decision.

“He’s a different kid. He hasn’t been wowed by the UNC, Indiana [reputations]. He takes each school [differently]. He takes what each school has to offer to heart.

“Whereas most kids in Virginia would jump if UNC offered, he kind of looked at the roster and all those things.

“He’s kind of looking at strength coaches and what UVa has in Mike Curtis there.

"All four of those schools have great strength and conditioning programs, but that’s one of the things he really, really liked about UVa -- was Mike being there and the potential to work with somebody who’s been an NBA strength and conditioning coach and who has turned down strength and conditioning coaching jobs down in the NBA.”
