Virginia's "mystery" recruit has finally been revealed.
On Wednesday, sources confirmed to the Daily Progress that UVa has received a verbal commitment from Jack Salt, a 6-foot-10, 230-pound high school center from New Zealand.
Salt chose Virginia over St. Mary's, Boise State, Wake Forest and Pitt, among others.
Sources say that UVa coach Tony Bennett, who used to play and coach professionally in New Zealand, used his connections in the country to land Salt.
Salt joins B.J. Stith and Isaiah Wilkins in UVa's 2014 class.
Sources say Bennett believes Salt has tremendous upside. Apparently, Bennett preferred Salt to big man Martin Geben, who recently committed to Notre Dame.
The Cavaliers still have one scholarship remaining, which they hope to give to Benedictine guard Robert Johnson. The Richmond native will announce his decision on Friday -- he's choosing between UVa, North Carolina, Indiana and Florida State.
