l Kate Nesbitt, owner of Pilates Virginia LLC achieved the Fully Certified Pilates Instructor, Level 2 designation from Stott Pilates, having passed exams covering Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair and Barrels, and the Stott graduate course, Injuries and Special Populations. Nesbitt was honored by the National MS Society Blue Ridge Chapter with a 2008 Tour de Vine volunteer award recognizing her for the MS Bike Ride Training Program she offered, with proceeds donated to the MS Society.

l Stephen Pekary, fine gardening maintenance manager of J.W. Townsend Inc., has earned the Advanced Virginia Certified Horticulturist certificate through the Virginia Nursery and Landscape Association and was recognized as a certified arborist through the International Society of Arboriculture.

 

l Virginia Business recognized the following Hantzmon Wiebel certified public accountants as “Super CPAs” in nine categories: Dean Martinelli and Kristin Lindgren Henningsen, business valuation/litigation; Edward Schmitz, assurance services; Glenn Lankford, estate planning and trusts; Jeffrey Ulmer and Lawrence Martin, individual tax; Jennifer Lehman and Rich Busofsky, employee benefits; Kendra Stribling, corporate tax; Frank Berry, nonprofit; Robert Foster and Keith Haney, small business consulting; and James Hutcherson, “Young CPA.”

 

l Spring Creek Land Development LLC appointed David Garono director of sales and marketing, a new position created in response to the gated golf course community’s rapid growth. Garono will be charged with marketing the new commercial and residential opportunities in the neighborhood, as well as providing customer service to potential buyers.

 

l Alison Ibarra has joined Spring Creek Golf Club as an assistant golf professional. Ibarra has degrees in business and professional golf management and has worked with golfers of all ages and abilities, including veterans with disabilities and amputations, as well as stroke and heart attack survivors.
