Bach’s Lunch serves midday musical fare

You’re invited to a musical 20th anniversary. The music ministry of Christ Episcopal Church is presenting its Bach’s Lunch series starting noon today.
David Breneman, carillonneur of the Luray Singing Tower at Luray Caverns since 1984, will perform in today’s season opener. He is director of music at Reformation Lutheran Church in New Market.
The program will include works by Bach and Bartok, as well as a piece that Virginia composer John Barr wrote for the 50th anniversary of the Luray Singing Tower.
Coming up in the season:
l May 9: Michael Cebulski, who will play marimba, is head of percussion at Emory University and Georgia Perimeter College. His program will include his own “Prodigal’’ and a piece for cello and marimba featuring guest Elizabeth Cantrell.
l May 16: Tapestry, a handbell quartet from Monumental United Methodist Church in Portsmouth, includes Cindy Lewis, Ann Morgan, Charm Peterman and Marjorie Setnicky.
l May 23: Emily Ricks, a harpist from Huntsville, Ala., is a physics major at the University of Virginia.
l May 30: Bass-baritone Keith Wagner was the founding conductor of the Madison Choral Society.
All concerts are free. Lunches are $6. For informaion, call 293-2347.
