The Virginia Glee Club is helping the University of Virginia bid a fond farewell to its new graduates this weekend. The singers’ annual Finals Concert will be 9:30 p.m. Saturday in Cabell Hall Auditorium.
The Glee Club, the oldest musical organization on the UVa Grounds, will sing “Lambscapes,’’ an amusing twist on a popular children’s song, and “Down the Mother-Volga River,’’ a version of a Russian folk take.
New music includes “Not Heat Flames Up and Consumes,’’ the fourth movement from Steven Sametz’s “We Two.’’
Audience favorites include Franz Biebl’s “Ave Maria,’’ as well as “Shenandoah’’ and an assortment of UVa songs.
Tickets are $15, $5 for students and free for degree candidates. For details, call 924-3984.
