Who says you can’t come home again?

Chris Daughtry certainly has had a welcome reception on his return trips to Charlottesville. After his success on “American Idol,” the Fluvanna graduate sold out the old Starr Hill venue in a matter of minutes. This time around, Daughtry — he goes by one name now — chose a bigger venue. The result, however, was still the same.

Daughtry’s acoustic performance at the Paramount Theater on Monday night is sold out.

The guy that used to hang out with this friend in local homes has earned the hearts of fans across the country. In November he won an American Music Award for the favorite pop-rock album. Forget pop, he’s pure rock fueled by his own intense style. His self-titled debut album hit double platinum status ... that’s more than 4 million copies sold. Three of those songs, “Feels Like Tonight,” “It’s Not Over” and “Home,” have hit No. 1 on the charts, another record for a debut rocker.

Fresh off a tour with Bon Jovi, Daughtry is working on a deluxe version of his CD, due out in September, and of course, coming home with an acoustic show. For those lucky enough to have nabbed tickets, the doors will open at 7 p.m.

Showtime is 8.
