Abell to present New Dominion
New Dominion Bookshop will host Sam Abell, who will present slides and discuss his new National Geographic publication, “The Life of a Photograph,” at 6 p.m. Thursday.

Here’s what’s happening at libraries in the coming week:
l The Monday Evening Book Club meets 7 p.m. Monday at Crozet Library. “All the Kings Men” by Robert Penn Warren is the topic.
l Book Discussion Group meets 7 p.m. Thursday at Green County Library. “Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman’s Search for Everything Across Italy, India and Indonesia” by Elizabeth Gilbert is featured.
l The Literary Masterpiece Book Group gathers at 10 a.m. Friday at Gordon Avenue Library with “The Expedition of Humphry Clinker” by Tobias Smollett. For details, call 979-7151, Ext. 211.
Channing will discuss colorful topic
Local author and intuitive consultant Lee Channing discusses her new book, “Intuitive Color Awareness Guide,” at 6 p.m. Friday at Paintings and Prose on the Downtown Mall.
There will be a book reading and signing. Channing’s work is about the role color plays in people’s energy centers.

VSA Arts of Charlottesville Albemarle announces the release of its eighth poetry book, “Hold On To Your Dreams.”
