The annual exhibit of works by Piedmont Virginia Community College art students opens with a reception from 5 to 7 this evening in the PVCC Gallery. The exhibit runs through April 19.
Each year, the opening reception is affectionately referred to as the seventh annual Chocolate Chowdown (despite its first appearance at PVCC in 2005) and always features decadent amounts of chocolate for all in attendance.
Following the reception, the PVCC Student Art Club will present a free screening of the 2008 Academy Award winner for best motion picture, "No Country for Old Men," at 7:30 p.m. on the Main Stage of the V. Earl Dickinson Building. Both events are free and open to the public.
The non-juried group exhibition is open to all PVCC students who have taken an art class during the current academic year. The media include painting, drawing, ceramics, sculpture and graphic design.
Ample, free well-lit parking is located in front of the V. Earl Dickinson Building.
