Play On! - A New Virginia Theatre will open its latest production, "Impossible Marriage'' by Beth Henley, at 8 p.m. Thursday in the troupe's Theatre at Ix.

Nothing is as it seems in the quirky comedy by Henley, who won the Pulitzer Prize for "Crimes of the Heart.''

The Kingsley family - mother Kandall and daughters Pandora and Floral - aren't your typical Southern belles. Pandora is getting ready to marry Edvard Lunt, who happens to be twice her age.

However, her pregnant matron-of-honor sister and Sidney, Edvard's son, aren't on board with the idea.

Shelley Cole directs the show, which features Devynn Bush as Pandora, Mandy McDavid as Floral, David Key as Edvard Lunt, Greg Stenbrecher as Jonsey (Floral's husband), Linn Wood as Kandall, Derby Thomas as Sidney Lunt and Jake Roth as the Reverend Larence.

Tickets are $15, $13 for students and seniors, on Friday and Saturday nights, and they're $13 and 11 on Sundays. Thursdays are on a "pay what you will'' basis.
