The world of visual arts in Charlottesville ranges from international art exhibits to offerings by local artists and crafters.
Newcomers will find that the Charlottesville-Albemarle Art Association offers encouragement to artists in the community and displays their works in several public places, including the Albemarle County Office Building and Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport. The association is a nonprofit group that has been making art available to residents and visitors in the area since 1934.
In addition to the galleries, studios and museums contained in this listing, the owners of many local restaurants and cafes, as well as other businesses and institutions, make their wall space available to artists for display.
