Cross that bridge, if you get to it | 978-7271

It’s a bad day to go west, young man. I-64 is a parking from Crozet back toward Charlottesville. First, the bridge construction that closed the left lane created about a five-mile back up and 30-minute delay and then a multi-car crash in the back-up has both westbound lanes blocked. Police and tow trucks are making their way to crash scene, but they have to drive eastbound on the westbound shoulder to get to it.
Expect delays on U.S. 250 and forget about going west on I-64 for the better part of an hour.
I-64 westbound at about mile marker 112: Multi-car wreck. Both lanes blocked. Traffic backing up to Charlottesville.
I-64 westbound at mile marker 108: Left lane closed. This is the problem that may have led to the multi-care pile-up. The left lane is closed about 11 miles west of Charlottesville, 24 hours, seven days a week until June 2008.
Earlysville Road at the airport: Paving project. Flagmen will direct traffic.
