Former Virginia Gov. Mark R. Warner did not make it to Charlottesville on Saturday because of a minor basketball-related injury, according to a campaign spokeswoman.
Warner, a Democrat, planned to be in town as a part of his campaign to replace retiring U.S. Sen. John W. Warner. He was scheduled to appear at the Charlottesville City Market on Water Street from 9 to 9:45 a.m. and at a Charlottesville Democratic Picnic at 11 a.m. at the Park at the University of Virginia School of Law.
Warner will face former Virginia Gov. Jim Gilmore, a Republican, in the Nov. 4 election.
