The city of Charlottesville is gearing up for its annual Christmas Tradition holiday celebration by searching for the perfect tree.

The city is asking for a donation of a large tree, which should be an evergreen under 25 feet tall and have easy access for removal.

The person who donates the tree will be recognized at the lighting ceremony, and the removal will be handled completely by city staff at no charge. Those interested should call Rick Barrick at 970-3129 or e-mail .

The Charlottesville Tradition, an annual holiday celebration in the city, will kick off a week earlier than usual on the Downtown Mall before the Thanksgiving holiday.
