Concert planned for 9/11 to promote peace

The city of Charlottesville will host a concert to promote peace and understanding on the seventh anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.

The event from 5 to 8 p.m. in the center of the Downtown Mall will feature local bands and entertainers, including the Dave Wyant Band, Lawrence Elder and a special contribution by the Music Resources Center. Free face-painting will be available for children.

The Sept. 11 concert is one of a series of free musical performances held each year in cities around the world.
