Albemarle County and Charlottesville are offering financial assistance to help residents keep cool this summer.
Beginning June 15, low-income residents can apply for money to offset the cost of paying an electric bill, buying an air conditioner or repairing an air conditioner.

To qualify, a household must include one of the following: a child younger than 6, someone older than 60 or a permanently disabled person.
City residents should call 970-3401 for more information, while county residents should dial 972-4010.
