County police promote Teixeira, Wagner

The Albemarle County Police Department has announced two promotions.

Lt. John Teixeira was promoted to captain, and he will be in charge of the operations bureau, according to Lt. Todd Hopwood, department spokesman.

Teixeira left the Richmond Police Department in 1985 and came to Albemarle. He has worked in nearly every division with Albemarle.

Sgt. Mike Wagner was promoted to lieutenant, and he will be in charge of the midnight patrol division. He joined the Albemarle department in 1991. He has worked on the community policing unit and supervised the bike patrol team.
