Entering the world of Thomas Jefferson will be less expensive during the month of June.

Monticello’s “Good Neighbor Month” will mean a $10 admission fee for adults — as compared with $15 — and no charge for children under 12. Tickets for children between the ages of 6 and 11 normally are $8.

Residents of Albemarle, Augusta, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, Madison, Nelson and Orange counties can take advantage of the discount, as well as those who live in the cities of Charlottesville, Staunton and Waynesboro.

Also, any resident in any of these localities will be admitted free when accompanying an out-of-area visitor paying full price.

A valid driver’s license or other proof of residence must be presented from Sunday through June 30 for the discount. Monticello is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call 984-9822.
