One lane of 11th Street between West Main and Lee streets will be closed to traffic this week, and a section will be fully closed for utility work that begins next week.

Dominion Virginia Power is installing new electrical lines to power the University of Virginia’s Children’s Hospital project. Next week, about 40 feet on either side of the street’s nearby railroad tracks will be closed.

Pedestrians will still be able to access the street during construction. Vehicle entrances to the 11th Street Garage, the Core Lab and business parking lots accessed from 11th Street via West Main will remain open.

Jefferson Park Avenue or Roosevelt Brown Boulevard/Crispell Drive can be used as detours until work is completed.
