The Commute
One rush in C’ville makes a hard man humble. Not much between despair and ecstasy…
You remain a sane, yet sophisticated
person:
Rooted in twilight, dreaming,
a piece of traffic.
John Ashbery—from his poem “We Hesitate.”

Have it your way...watch today for the lane closure on U.S. 250 between Locust Avenue and Park Street and the lane closure on I-64 westbound near Crozet....
Construction
U.S. 250 Bypass from Park Street to Locust Avenue: One lane will close in each direction. Closures begin at 9 a.m. and continue until 3 p.m. for bridge inspections.
I-64 westbound at mile marker 108: Left lane closed. About 11 miles west of Charlottesville, the lane will be closed 24 hours, seven days a week until June 2008. Not so much of an issue in the morning rush, but it can screw up a good afternoon.
I-64 eastbound and westbound, between mile marker 114, and mile marker 100: Mobile right lane closure. From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. for bridge sweeping, weather permitting. Use caution.
