A 22-year-old woman out for a morning walk Sunday suffered several injuries after a dog attacked her, according to Charlottesville police.
The woman, whose name police did not release, said she was walking on Fairway Avenue near Meade Park at about 7:30 a.m. when she saw “a black pit bull with white spots,” according to the police report. The canine bit her leg, and when she fell to the ground, the dog let go and bit her leg a second time.
She fought the dog off, suffering minor abrasions to her arms. She was treated at the University of Virginia Medical Center.
