Two male teenagers have been arrested by Albemarle County Police in connection with an armed robbery that took place on Saturday afternoon at the Riverbend apartment complex on Pantops Mountain.
At around 3:15 p.m., police believe the two suspects approached an adult male victim and one suspect displayed a handgun. The suspects demanded money and the victim surrendered his wallet. The victim, who was not injured, called 911 after the suspects fled on foot toward the Pantops Shopping Center.
Police officers responded to the area and, with assistance from the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office K9 unit, one suspect was arrested at the Wilton Farms apartment community and charged with armed robbery, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and obstruction of justice.
After further investigation, the second suspect was arrested Sunday and charged with armed robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Both suspects are being held at the Blue Ridge Detention Center.
