Charlottesville police say they have arrested four city residents in connection with the Saturday morning shooting death of 19-year-old Joshua Anthony Magruder.
Arrested were Theodore Calvin Timberlake, 20, and Bobby Wayne Gardner Jr, 25, of Garrett Street; Trenton Michael Brock, 20, of Ridge Street; and Rachel Denise Turner, 25, of Reservoir Road. City police made the arrests Sunday night along with Albemarle County police and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
Magruder’s body was found Saturday in the 700 Block of Sixth Street Southeast.
Timberlake, Gardner, and Brock are each charged with first degree murder and use of a firearm in connection with Magruder’s death. In addition, Bobby Wayne Gardner is charged with knowingly and intentionally possessing or transporting a firearm after having been convicted of a felony.
Rachel Turner is charged as an accessory after the fact by receiving, relieving, comforting, or assisting Bobby Gardner.
Police also continue to investigate a shooting incident that occurred at about 7 p.m. on Saturday in the 900 block of Page Street. While two arrests have been made in connection with that incident, police are still investigating whether the two cases are related.
Police have recovered a total of four firearms in relation to both these shootings and small amounts of marijuana.
