Man arrested in recent robbery

An 18-year-old Albemarle County man is in jail, facing charges in connection with a Tuesday night armed robbery of the Barracks Road Market, according to Albemarle County police.
Police identified the man as Pierre Gerard Augustine. He is charged with robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and is currently being held without bond at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail.
According to police reports, the robbery occurred shortly after 9 p.m. Sept. 30. A female clerk at the store told police that a man entered the store, displayed a handgun and demanded cash, fleeing on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
No one was hurt in the robbery.
Augustine is scheduled for a Nov. 16 hearing in Albemarle County General District Court, according to court documents.
