Man assaulted, robbed in county

A man was assaulted and robbed in the 2000 block of Commonwealth Drive on Wednesday night.
The 25-year-old victim said two men approached and assaulted him at about 10:45 p.m., according to Albemarle police Lt. Shawn Schwertfeger. A third man joined in.
After the assault, the perpetrators stole the man’s money, Schwertfeger said.
The victim suffered head injuries and received treatment at the scene.
Police were given a description of the two initial attackers. One is described as about 6 feet tall, black, with a thin build, wearing a white bandana, white T-shirt and shorts. The other was also 6 feet tall, black, with a thin build, wearing a red bandana, blue T-shirt and dark jean shorts.
Police have no description of the third person.
