Man faces arson, bomb threat charges

Charlottesville and Albemarle fire marshals have charged a 20-year-old man in connection with a bomb threat and Christmas Eve house fire.
Anthony Jerod Terry remains in the Charlottesville-Albemarle Regional Jail without bond.
The bomb threat charge stems from a Jan. 7 incident when someone called the Kroger grocery in the Rio Hill Shopping Center and said there was a bomb, according to Lee Catlin, Albemarle spokeswoman. The store was evacuated but no bomb was found.
The arson charge stems from a fire in the city on Dec. 24. No information on the incident was available.
Catlin said Terry confessed to the crimes, both felonies.
He also faces a misdemeanor destruction of property charge stemming from a Dec. 23 incident, according to court records.
