An Orange County man is in jail facing a second-degree murder charge after an early-morning incident Sunday, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The victim was killed around 2 a.m. Sunday in the Pierce Lane area of the county.
Gary Joseph Delgross, of 12350 Pierce Lane in Orange, was arrested later Sunday, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The 54-year-old is being held at the Central Virginia Regional Jail without bond.
Rescue personnel attempted to treat the victim but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Sheriff’s Office said it is not releasing the victim’s name until the family has been notified.
No other details of the incident were being released Sunday.
