A 20-year-old Earlysville man accused of sexually abusing a then-14-year-old girl will spend 12 months in jail.

Kevin Snow was sentenced to jail time after pleading guilty Monday to reduced charges of causing acts rendering children delinquent or abused and sexual battery in Albemarle Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court, confirmed Darby Lowe, the county’s deputy commonwealth’s attorney.

Snow also was sentenced to an additional 12 months in jail, but Lowe said it would be suspended as long as Snow seeks treatment. He also will have to register as a sex offender after he is released.

Snow was charged earlier this year with forcible rape and taking indecent liberties with a child under 15. Authorities said the incident occurred between Decem-ber 2006 and January 2007.
