Virginia State Police have issued an Endangered Missing Child Alert for the 12-year-old Charlottesville girl who vanished after returning home from school Tuesday.
Lorena Sanchez-Toledo was last seen near her home in the Meadows neighborhood of Charlottesville.
“They believe she has or is leaving the Charlottesville area,” state police Sgt. Ted Jones said, referring to Charlottesville police, who could not be reached for comment.
Jones said city authorities believe Sanchez-Toledo may be with a Hispanic man named Jeremias Chagala-Mil. The 31-year-old Charlottesville man is 5 feet 4 inches and weighs 150 pounds. He may be driving a 1997 red Mitsubishi with the license plate KDW-8874.
If you see Sanchez-Toledo, call Detective Logan Woodzell at the Charlottesville Police Department at 970-3280 or 980-3210.
