In Albemarle County, rising 6th-grade students need immunization vaccines before school starts on Aug. 20.
Students must provide the school nurse with documentation showing they’ve received the required immunizations or are exempt for religious or medical reasons, according to officials.
Students must get a booster dose of Pertussis-containing vaccine (T-DaP).
The Charlottesville/Albemarle Health Department provides the T-DaP booster free for children.
The department can be contacted at (434) 972-6269.
