Tandem Friends School has been awarded a $75,000 grant from the Edward E. Ford Foundation.
The independent school in Albemarle County applied for the matching grant challenge last year and raised the money in time to earn the grant, according to Kim Dukes, the school’s director of communications and marketing.
The grant aims to help Tandem’s efforts to recruit and maintain an ethnically and culturally diverse student body.
Tandem, established in 1970, is a coeducational college preparatory school for grades five through 12.
