Slade Woodson, the 19-year-old Afton man facing indictments for a string of shootings in Waynesboro and on Interstate 64 last week, appeared in a Waynesboro court Monday morning..
Woodson, facing felony indictments in the city for destruction of property and firing into an occupied building, requested a court appointed attorney at the 8:30 a.m. advisement hearing in Waynesboro General District Court. Judge William D. Heatwole scheduled a May 20 preliminary hearing in the case.
Woodson is also facing felony indictments in Albemarle County for allegedly shooting five occupied cars traveling on Interstate 64, slightly injuring two people, and shooting an unoccupied VDOT dump truck.
