Stop violence through phys. ed.
I read a letter to the editor (“No easy fix for area gun violence”) in the Aug. 3 Daily Progress. In the author’s list of things that could be done to help stop the gun violence in Charlottesville, I felt he left something out: more physical education.
It’s time to send Goode home
Rep Virgil Goode will soon leave Congress, pack his bags and return home to Virginia. Good news for both the country and for Virginia.

John McCain has made the inevitable political point that Barack Obama has no military experience. Of course, experience in life’s pursuits is of great value. But, not always. In this area, I value judgment, intelligence and a broad perspective far more.

Bush should defend Constitution
