Published: June 7, 2008

The Virginia Discovery Museum hosted the 18th annual Discovery Dash on May 24 at the Monticello High School track. The weather was ideal, and it was evident that a record 478 runners from over 165 schools had a great time.

On behalf of the museum I would like to thank our wonderful race director, Mark Lo-renzoni, members of the Char-lottesville Track Club, who helped guide the runners and recorded the times; and our many sponsors, who provided everything from financial support and raffle prizes to healthy post-race food and beverages for everyone who crossed the finish line.

We value the enthusiasm of individuals and families for this healthy event and appreciate the funds generated for programs and exhibits at the Virginia Discovery Museum. Thanks to all who made this one of the best races ever!
