Re: “Soccer balls bring solace to children,” The Daily Pro-gress, April 26, about donating soccer balls to children in Mosul, Iraq:
The national pastime and passion in Afghanistan is kite flying. The practice was banned by the Taliban, but has since been enthusiastically resumed.
Why hasn’t some organization begun collecting and distributing to the Afghan children kites (big or small, elaborate or simple) decorated with indications of American origin?
