I was never more proud of my hometown and my country than to attend the Naturalization Ceremonies at Monti-cello this Independence Day.

Lou Jordan and his staff, along with countless others from Albemarle County, the City of Charlottesville, the State of Virginia and those behind the scenes, did an impeccable job organizing this enormous task of bringing the president in for this occasion.

Those attending were so happy to be there for this once in a lifetime opportunity.  Though there was a lot of waiting and sitting in the hot sun, there was no complaining.

I have a renewed sense of patriotism, as well as pride for my community.
