As I read the article in the Oct. 13 Daily Progress, “SARA still helping despite economy woes,” I thought about how much fun I had as the celebrity judge at the Charlottesville Lady Arm Wrestlers fundraiser for SARA.
My position was far from celebratory as I was called upon to make a very difficult decision regarding a tiebreaker. It was a very intense moment. The crowd was cheering as several CLAW Bucks exchanged hands.
I admired the athletic prowess of all the participants and the spirit of competition. But most importantly, I admired the dedication to our community to support SARA so the organization can continue to provide sexual violence survivor and education services to the community.
