Conservatives should stay partisan

Apparently the letter writer regarding “Endorsements not in touch with city” (Nov. 14) hasn’t been reading The Daily Progress on a regular basis. Had she, I think she would have realized that The Daily Progress was behind Barack Obama as much as the rest of the mainstream media.

As well, she suggests that we should basically all kiss and make up now that Obama is the president-elect. She apparently wants us conservatives to forget the unfair bashing that the Democrats have been giving George Bush for the past eight years — in good times and bad. We’re supposed to show their candidate respect despite our views; however, they failed to exercise that same respect when their candidate of choice was not in office.

If the media were truly fair, they would report on every questionable decision Obama makes, but apparently that’s not going to happen being that the media couldn’t bring themselves to report on the many questionable items in Obama’s candidacy — including his friendships with known terrorists and his own mentor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright (forget that he severed ties with him during his run for president — he sat in his church for 20 years prior).

Let us not also fail to mention the fact that Obama had many unspecified donors, many from out of the country, that have supported him. The Dems don’t care though, as long as it’s their candidate. Had John McCain been elected, the same people would have been crying foul and wanted a full review of his fundraising.

So in short, my answer is: “No, we can’t all get along. We will be holding Obama to the same ‘standards’ that the media and others imposed for Bush.”

When the news people report the facts about Bush, conservatives gripe about the “Liberal Media.“

When the conservatives want to support their candidate, they have to distort the facts about the other side.

If you still respect Bush after the last 8 years - you haven’t been paying attention.
