The Republican Party has lost its way.
“Let’s win this election at any cost.” This seems to be the Republican mantra.
John McCain is offering to give all taxpayers a rebate and cut taxes when our government is deeper in debt than anytime in our nation’s history. And a large part of this debt is owed to the same countries that were home to those terrorists who hated us so much that they attacked us with our own aircraft on 9/11.
Their goal was to destroy our financial system. With the help of the inept leadership in the White House, they have nearly succeeded. The U.S. dollar is now worth far less than it was when this country was attacked.
So, what is John McCain’s answer — that we borrow more money from the Arabian oil countries and China? “I will cut your taxes and leave in place the tax break that only the wealthiest in our country enjoy”? Two Republican White Houses tried this.
Trickle-down economics? No, I don’t think so. That faucet seems to have been turned off and the inflation lever turned on.
John McCain also chooses a running mate who is the governor of the state that gets back from the federal government $1.84 for every dollar paid in. A good part of this money comes from earmarked money that John McCain vows to abhor. The governor has explained that this was for education purposes. That is the spin.
Our country needs a change, and not the one proposed by the Republican Party. They used to be the party of fiscal responsibility, but not any longer.
