No candidate’s race is a relevant criterion on which to judge the candidate’s qualification. Barack Obama, and any other candidate, should be judged on his experience and his proven ability to perform the job for which he is seeking election.
Of course it is difficult to judge Mr. Obama on the basis of his experience. Two years in the Senate provide insufficient data on which to determine his ability. About all that he accomplished in his two years in the Senate is to earn designation as a left-wing senator.
Hand-in-hand with that designation, voters should consider his friends and associates. That is a long list of ultra-liberals. They include the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, who obviously hates the United States, and Mr. Obama’s wife, who said that, until her husband started to run for office, she was not proud of her country. After listening to the Rev. Wright without objection for 20 years, Obama finally mildly rejected him, but he has said nothing about the intemperate statements by his wife.
Harry Truman said about JFK, “He talks pretty.” And Mr. Obama certainly does talk pretty, but what has he said?
