The identity politics of the left is shooting the Democrats in the foot and is entertaining to those of us on the right who believe in a meritocracy. The best person regardless of race, gender, etc. should be promoted, elected or otherwise succeed.
The recent demographic results of voting in the West Virginia and Kentucky primaries, with attention to race and gender particularly, ex-pose the hypocrisy of liberals and Democrats and their own blatant racism and sexism, though the mainstream media refuse to acknowledge it.
That is, it’s OK, if not required by feminists, to vote for Hillary Clinton just because she’s a woman (“It’s time for the United Sates to catch up with the rest of the world” or “It’s a woman’s turn”) but not acceptable for a man to vote against her because she’s a woman or because he might prefer a male candidate. Women can vote for a woman solely based on gender without impunity, but men are sexist if they think the same way.
Similarly, in those same primaries, 90 percent of blacks voted for Barack Obama. Do nine out of 10 blacks really believe that he is the superior candidate when the rest of the Democrats see it 50-50? As above, it’s apparently OK to vote for a candidate of your own race but only if you are black. However, if you are white and vote your race, you are racist.
I deplore racism and sexism but equally abhor political correctness. Really, what would feminists and African-Americans do if the Repub-licans nominated a pro-life woman or a conservative black candidate?
I believe we should support those who represent our values and national best interests without any regard to race or gender. Liberals can’t seem to figure this out, but it is fun watching them try.
