So let’s see …

The Democrats think the Bush administration is a total failure (probably true); the Republicans think that the Democratic Congress hasn’t done a thing since being given pretty clear mandate to do something (probably also true); Virginia lawmakers can’t seem to agree on or do anything about transportation (must be true); lawmakers and government officials eat like pigs at the public trough; gas prices are through the roof and all our leaders can do is talk about it — and finally U.S. Sen. Phil Gramm says we are a nation of whiners.

Well, Phil, here is my whine: What have y’all done for us lately? You know, the ones who pay you to solve problems and take care of us?

Not a darned thing!

Take care of us? You must be kidding, since when has the government become a nanny. You are responsible for yourself. Don’t like what the government is doing then change it and stop whining. Our problem is that we keep reelecting the same people who do the same lousy job. As long as our representative brings home the pork to us we are happy but then we turn around and whine about others doing the same. The Federal Government is not supposed to be taking care of our every little problem. Help with the infrastructure and protection from foreign invasion is all I want from Washington, other then that stay out of my life.
