Virgil Goode still doesn’t get it

Defying his president, his leadership and the needs of anxious constituents, Virgil Goode has once again put Republican orthodoxy over all else. Mr. Goode twice voted vote against the Emergency Econ-omic Stabilization Act.
Goode claims the bill had too much pork. This charge rings hollow from someone whose name is on $36 million of earmarks and once boasted to the Roanoke Times that as a member of the Appropriations Com-mittee, “You have an opportunity to get a little more on that committee than you do on some other committees.”
The Economic Stabilization Act is intended to free up choked credit markets that are dragging down U.S. and global economies. The problems can be traced to lax or non-existent regulation under Republican administrations. This allowed greedy companies like Lehman Brothers, AIG and their ilk to devise bizarre financial instruments characterized as “safe” when they lacked any of the capital requirements of traditional banks.
Virgil Goode supports deregulation — it’s in the DNA of hard-right Republicans.
Fortunately, we have a choice this election year.
Fifth District voters should consider the state of their dwindling retirement, plunging house prices and uncertain job prospects before pulling the lever once again for Virgil Goode.

Virgil Goode does get it, he voted the will of the people, which was overwhelmingly against this bill! The representatives that voted against this ill-conceived piece of legislative dung are the brave ones, who went against the pressure of their respective party leadership to stay true to the (I’ll say it again, in case you didn’t get it the first time…) will of the people as shown by the flood of emails and faxes to NOT SIGN THE BILL! BTW- Shame on Eric Cantor for buckling on this issue.
Lastly, V. Goode has been one of the few in Washington doing something meaningful about the invasion of illegal hispanics in this country, and for this alone, deserves to go back to Washington and represent us. Maybe I haven’t gotten your attention, INVASION of millions, perhaps as high as 10 million, stealing jobs, lowering wages, causing great burden on our social systems, but that doesn’t seem to bother you, as you would rather elect someone else to Congress. Someone that will surely pander to this group of invaders by offering our social security benefits, in-state tuition, driver’s licenses and citizenship. Fool.

36 million in earmarks. That is nothing to compared to Obama who in his 300 days as a Senator has proposed $300 million in pork. He has proposed more pork in a little over a month then Goode has in his career. Liberals shouldn’t be pointing fingers.
