When will Virginia’s 5th District Rep. Virgil Goode, R-Rocky Mount, debate his Democratic challenger, Tom Perriello?
According to Charlottesville’s NBC 29 and Lynchburg’s ABC 13, Rep. Goode and Mr. Perriello were scheduled — since April — to debate on Oct. 6, but then Goode ducked out (see “Goode Stuns Stations, Denies Debate Plan,” from the Oct. 2 Danville Register & Bee, http://www.godanriver.com/gdr/news/local/local_politics/article/goode_stuns_stations_denies_debate_plan/6583/).
Call Virgil Goode’s campaign office at (540) 483-9030 and ask that our U.S. representative be accountable to Virginia 5th District voters as we are considering our vote in this important election. There is simply no excuse for avoiding public debates.
