Three against one.
“Kid” vs. “adult.”
Anyway you look at it, Paw-lee’s standoff against the three bears makes for a great story.

Pawlee is an 8-month-old, 15-pound cockapoo — a cocker spaniel-poodle mix — who found three bears in his back yard in northern New Jersey last Sunday.
“We had just let him out for the morning and he ran into the yard and started barking his head off,” owner Fran Osiason said.

Nine-year-old son Jacob went outside to see what the matter was and ran back in exclaiming that there were bears.

In fact, there were two cubs and their mother.

Pawlee’s owners were afraid that the mother would come after their puppy.
Instead, Pawlee’s barking drover the mother bear over the fence and the cubs up a tree. Eventually, the cubs came down, climbed the fence and disappeared with their mother into the woods.

In reporting the story, the Associated Press said that northern New Jersey seems to produce feisty, protective pets. That’s the same area where, two years ago, a tabby cat named Jack chased a bear up a tree.
Maybe the area just breeds peaceful bears.
