The Charlottesville region might not know which candidate won Tuesday’s hard-fought 5th District congressional race until sometime in December.

Democrat Tom Perriello’s bid to unseat U.S. Rep. Virgil H. Goode Jr., R-Rocky Mount, is getting a sizable last-minute cash infusion.

In this election cycle both national parties are calling for change. Though each party has its spin on the subject, there is unanimity in the declaration that Washington is broken.
