Any football coach would be happy to have one consistent running back on his roster.

Some people may think of hot chocolate or a warm fire at home when cold weather sets in, but apparently St. Anne’s coach John Blake thinks a lot more about his rushing attack.

It’s getting to be do-or-die time for St. Anne’s-Belfield. With just a few games left on the schedule, the Saints need to find that fifth gear they found last year in order to get where they want.

St. Anne’s finished the job it started three days ago by defeating its longtime rival 27-16.

Despite its loss to Fork Union this past Friday, St. Anne’s-Belfield enjoyed success on offense all night.

The Cavaliers (0-1), at this point, would likely settle with merely flashing back to last season. After a disheartening loss last year at Wyoming in the opening game, the Cavaliers promptly won their next seven straight games and climbed into the national polls for the first time since 2005.
