Albemarle County police are having to crack down on drivers on U.S. 29.

The family of a 16-year-old Albemarle High School junior killed in a car accident has filed a $15 million lawsuit against a tractor-trailer driver and the company for which he worked.

A Waynesboro truck driver involved in a wreck that killed an Albemarle teenager on U.S. 29 will face a jury early next year.

After a teenager was killed recently, Albemarle residents are calling a U.S. 29 intersection a death trap.

Authorities have made no decision on whether to charge the 54-year-old Waynesboro man who drove a tractor-trailer into Sydney Nichol Aichs’ car Friday, killing the Albemarle High School student.
