Albemarle County and Charlottesville officials and representatives will make a trip to Northern Virginia to hold a town hall meeting for the 650 to 800 employees who will move to the county-based National Ground Intelligence Center.

Developer Wendell Wood has begun construction on one of two office buildings that would serve the expanding National Ground Intelligence Center.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has awarded a contract to a Chicago firm to design and build the Joint-Use Intelligence Analysis Facility on U.S. 29 north of Charlottesville.
The facility will be built on 46 acres at Rivanna Station next to the National Ground Intelligence Center, a spokeswoman for the Corps of Engineers in Norfolk announced Wednesday.
