Colberg is listed as a wide receiver and defensive back on the roster, but fills myriad other roles. In fact, he has played some at running back, handles the kicking duties and even played a little bit at quarterback in the team’s previous meeting against STAB. But more important to the team are his leadership qualities.

On Wednesday evening the two teams went at again in their semifinal match of the LIS tournament, but this time around it was the Cougars who came out on top 3-2 (21-25, 25-19, 25-21, 17-25, 15-8).

PREPS PLUS: VHSL ponders sweeping classification changes
The Virginia High School League laid out a a new proposal for how to divide the state with regards to the postseason, and the new proposal clearly coincides with the Redistricting and Reclassification committee’s desire to “think outside the box,” as detailed in the power point presentation.

STAB took advantage of Christchurch’s lackadaisical defense as they managed to tally two goals including the game winner in the 85th minute to earn the Saints a 2-1 victory.

St. Anne’s volleyball finds the right combination
St. Anne’s-Belfield’s volleyball team has seven seniors on the squad, so expectations were high coming into this season because of the Saints’ veteran leadership. But then the Saints stumbled a little out of the gate, struggling with a tough schedule. That’s part of the past now.

Long sets STAB mark
St. Anne’s-Belfield quarterback Howie Long passed for 283 yards to overtake Sean McChesney for the school’s all-time passing record in a 56-35 victory over Virginia Episcopal on Friday.
