Webb leads at Cannon

In Gordonsville, Longwood junior Adam Webb shot a second-round 72 to take a one-shot lead at the Cannon Cup at Spring Creek Golf Course.
The 20-year-old from Martinsville had a two-day total of 145.
“Today, I just hit the fairways, hit the greens and made the putts that I needed to,” Webb said. “It was a tough day, and I felt 72 was a good score today.”
Jerry Burton, who was tied for the lead entering Saturday’s round, was one shot back at 146 along with Tim Driver. Fellow first-round leaders Dustin Groves and Brent Daughtrey were at 147 and 151, respectively.
Castanet up one at Wintergreen Amateur
In Wintergreen, Seton Hall junior Ryan Castanet rode a hot putter to the second-round lead at the Wintergreen National Amateur. Castanet shot a second-round 73 to lead by one shot.
Methodist sophomore Aaron German was one shot back at 147.
Penn State sophomore Brendan Borst was third at 150 and former Virginia Senior Amateur runner-up David Hyduke was fourth at 154.
